And doesn't this gorgeous photo from LA based photog's Sweet Monday Photography reinforce all the reasons why you shouldn't have to just wear white shoes with a white wedding frock? The punchy orange ties in to the vibrant bouquet and the pretty jewel detail ensures they are glam enough for a big event.

Rachel Simpson Shoes introduces pretty ballet flats

Shoe designer Rachel Simpson has introduced a new ballet style to her divine collection of bridal styles. The Mia flats are crafted from ivory satin with a sprinkle of crystals. We think they would make a great alternative to heels or for a pretty shoe for dancing during the reception particularly if you've just quaffed to much vino. Who? Us? Never.

Pronovias peep toe bridal shoes

Have you checked out Pronovias' accessories section? There isn't much online, merely some beautifully styled shoes and trinkets but they've certainly whetted our whistle.

We're rather taken by this lacey peep toe with a satin trim and slim heel. Wouldn't it look as equally good with a puffy fifties as it would with a floor skimming designer number?

Add some oomph to your ensemble with Dune peep toes

They may be bordering on the ridiculously hugely heeled, but by golly we want them anyway. Our sharp eyed vintage finding friend Erin at Pretty Vintage found these peep toes and we think they would make a pretty fabulous pair of heels for brides who want to add some height. The diamante trim is far too pretty to keep hidden so we fully advocate teaming with a knee length frock or dying a brilliant jewel shade if possible.

Coo! Pretty shoes! We're a sucker for them. We don't know if we could actually walk in them but we sure as anything wouldn't turn them down if they were handed to us on a silver platter. They aren't wedding shoes per se but wouldn't they both look fantastic with a wedding dress and they'd be great for swish nights out after.

The rose courts are £150 and the butterfly peep toes are £150, both online at Karen Millen (we love most of the range, if truth be told).

We have a special little place in our heart for retro styled shoes. These are pretty perfect with a rounded toe, a neat little heel and a sparkly strap.

Coast offers dyed to match shoes in store from The Rainbow Club

Coast have announced that they will be stocking shoes from the Rainbow Club. Nine styles will be available including the ubiquitous peep toe and classic sling backs. All of the shoes can be dyed to match Coast outfits making it super easy to get a co-ordinated outfit for guests, bridesmaids and brides alike! Sizes range from 3-8 with half sizes too.

Peeping fantastic!

We have a thing for peep toes here. We don't know if it's the retro vibe or the summery look but if we could save one shoe from world shoe destruction, this would be it. And we'd make them tax deductable too. Here's some beautiful bridal peepers for you:

Christian Louboutin glitter pumps - a sparkling alternative to white bridal shoes

There is no rule to say that you have to wear white shoes with a white dress on your wedding day (this black dress/ red shoe combo being an excellent example) and if there was, why, we'd rip it up! And eat it! Well, maybe not but we are all for slipping on these terrific glitter peep toe pumps that say 'I am completely fabulous' and they should be for $745.

Wales-based bridal boutique High Society Bride have just dropped us a line to let us know that they've launched a new online store by the same name. We love the girly graphics and easy navigation which takes you to accessories divided into shoes, jewellery, headdresses, lingerie and extras where you'll find storage boxes and pretty parasols.
