We're all getting eco conscious these days, aren't we? A wedding is no different with couples wondering how to recycle, par down air and car miles and introduce organic elements whilst still having a fabulous bash. Alexandra Bishop, director of homeware and gift site Biome Lifestyle, had the same considerations at her wedding and has given us her top tops for a carbon conscious wedding:
Location – choose a location that is easy for your guests to get to via public transport. Or, why not put those guests who live nearby to each other in contact so they can car share.
Invites – to be greener, why not send your invitations on recycled card or seed paper.
Dress – for your something old, why not reuse your Mum’s wedding dress for an added personal touch on the day. If you don’t want to have a recycled wedding dress then why not recycle it after the day by giving it to charity or making it into another dress. For the bridesmaids’ dresses consider separate tops and skirts so the bridesmaids can use them after the wedding.
Flowers – select flowers that are locally sourced and in season, this will also help your budget as out of season flowers come at a cost. If there are certain flowers that are specifically grown locally, choose these to complement your location choice and give guests a greater feel for the area.
