Roll up, roll up! Yes, it's that time again. The National Wedding Show is set to take over London's Earls Court on 2-4th October, swiftly followed by Birmingham NEC on 9-11th October. At both shows, you'll find plenty of exhibitors showing off their cakes, favours, accessories, shoes not to mention dozens of glam dresses.

We must admit, that even as a small, and utterly delightful, child, we have never wanted to dress like Barbie. Not in her 'streetwear' and certainly not in princess mode. We feel the glittery sequins and swags of this ballgown (and yes, we checked that is a wedding dress and not a prom gown) are too much like her plasticness for our liking. We are also a smidge scared of the enormous butterfly gnawing on her arm.

This is not the sort of dress we have come to expect from Vera Wang but we are more than happy to be suprised. Is the rich black organza just not delectable? And the swirled neckline and pleated drapes not divine? We assure you we think it is.
According to the blurb on her site, Charlotte Casadejus has drawn from her passion for vintage design to create a collection of contemporary classics. And we quite agree that the vintage inspiration works incredibly well in these beautiful gowns. We're particularly enamoured with the 'coco' crepe tuxedo dress finished with vintage fastenings (the black version is Victorian-modern fabulousness) and the slinky bias cut 'Lauren' which makes us want to be in a Poiret film as a thirties movie star. One can dream.
We've seen floral gowns but never have we seen a wedding dress actually made out of flowers. Yet that is just what Georgie Mcqueen has done. Taking 1500 stems of gypsophilia, Mcqueen has worked some serious floral magic to create this frock.
She'll be recreating the look and sending it down the runway at Guildford Cathedral on 30th September - ticket info here [source].
We're a bit thrilled to find Watters have a small range of jewellery. Featuring statement necklaces and brooches in cool monochrome, we're rather enamoured with the bridal styles which feature crystals, metallic embroidery and pearls in black or ivory.
We're blown away by this fabulous post from designer Suzannah who details just how much research, effort and detail she and her team put in to creating this gorgeous gown for a bride. The starting point was finding the collar piece sitting on the shoulder at the Porte de Clignancourt market in Paris then creating a draping Grecian style gown to complement it. More hot sales news bargainistas! The Vintage Wedding Dress Company, owened by stylist Charlie Brear, are hosting a trunk sale on the 4th and 5th of September. Gowns and accessories from Victorian era through to the 1970s will be on sale but you'll have to snap them up quick as you're unlikely to find another.
